Agatha Christie - Part III
I decided to take advantage of the embossed frame of the book, painting within it Agatha Christie's portrait. This space was a little narrow, so I had to cut off the back portion of her head and forgo the pearl necklace, but I don't think it compromised the composition. Having read that her favorite colour was green, I designed a very simple green top for her. The background is a deep purple wine colour which complements nicely with the green top, and off-sets her fine patrician profile and silvery white hair. I decided to paint the book a carbon black, reminiscent of Edward Gorey.
I still have to do the written part of the artwork, but I'm almost done.
