Pepe - Shih Tzu - Portrait Commission Completed

Pepe's portrait is completed. The only correction was to make Pepe's eyes a lighter brown colour. You can see the difference in the 'before and after' shots below, not only for the eye colour, but also how the varnish makes everything pop. The eyes and nose look really wet once the varnish is on. It also is an excellent protective coat, if one can't kiss the real Pepe, one can kiss the painting and just wipe it clean with a soft damp cloth (as I just did). 

The final stage of the portrait is to apply the paper backing, the ribbon and the decorative nails around the canvas, along with the hanging hardware. The portrait will soon be off to Montreal.
