Nellie & Sophie - Part II

Here is the photograph I will use of Nellie. She looks happy and relaxed, her big brown eyes focused on what will eventually be Sophie. This photo shows well the distinctive markings of the Schnauzer.

For Sophie, I will use a combination of these two photographs. The first, for the body position, the second for that million dollar face.

The setting will be inspired by this photograph of a little cozy nook. I love that window bench with its light streaming in. Dogs love looking out when they are in (and looking in when they are out) so this area would be perfect for Nellie and Sophie to hang out. The throw you see on the right will be replaced by their own lovely crochet throw.

Since, this painting is all about Nellie and Sophie, I will add some doggie sculptures and doggie nicknacks to the shelf.

The framed art work hanging on the wall will be replaced by this black and white shot of Nellie and Sophie taken by auntie Diane. Love it!

Nellie and Sophie have two very different temperaments. I want to symbolize this through a bouquet of flowers in a vase placed near the window. Nellie, being more like the antique roses image (elegant, soft, subtle) and Sophie being more like wild flowers (colourful, abundant, busy).

Here is the girls' crochet blanket. I find it absolutely adorable. Colours from that blanket will be used in the decor of Nellie and Sophie's painting. Now I'll start sketching and see how it comes together.
