Commissioned Portrait - Grandfather and His Cat, Part XII

Almost finished, but unvarnished At this point, I've done all I can, now I need input from my client to get it just right. Their might have been beauty spots or little moles that were not visible in the photos she has provided. The hair might have been more white or grey or brownish. The human eye will question the accuracy of a painting more than the accuracy of a photograph.

Above are six progress shots of the head. The first three are always unsettling as it takes a few days to get a good foundation and achieve a skin tone that has warmth.

Same goes for Abraham, any corrections are possible.

Although it's possible to do touch ups after the varnish has been applied,
I prefer doing most of them before.
