Fleury, Yorkshire Terrier - Commissioned Portrait
I'm about to begin a new portrait. The subject this time is a handsome little boy named Fleury.
Originally from Quebec, this little Yorkie had been someone's pet for ten years until he was dropped off at a shelter by his owner. Reason: Moving to France.
This is beyond my comprehension, but I can only conclude that it was a blessing in disguise, for Fleury had many health issues, mostly due to neglect. He ended up in the healing arms of Carol of Happy Tails Rescue and became a cherished member of her family, living the remainder of his life in the best possible care. He was deeply loved. Carol and Fleury developed a special bond and he became her faithful companion, even if he couldn't quite understand the English language. Unexpectedly, Fleury passed away a few days ago of heart failure. This portrait is to commemorate his life with her.
Follow me on Fleury's portrait journey and get to know more about this little French Yorkshire Terrier along the way.
