A Good Day for Kismutt's Fundraiser

The Kismutt Dog Walk fundraiser last Saturday was a success, despite the grey and damp day. Numerous St Marys' business owners, local residents and dog lovers from near and far showed their support with generous donations of all kinds.

In the photo above: Kimberly Thomas, owner and operator of Kismutt, with Crystal Oliver, one of the student organizer. Annabelle in the middle is one of Kimberly's own rescued dog. She is wheeled around in her wagon when she's not in her wheelchair.

Two winners of the Dog/Owner Look-a-like Contest, as reported in our local newspaper.

As a foster dog mom, I often wonder how the dogs - especially the very damaged ones - are doing after they are adopted. This event was a great opportunity to see how well-adjusted and healthy the dogs rescued from puppy mills have become under the loving care of their new owners.

Two gorgeous Great Danes from Kismutt adopted by the owners of Barista's, a very fine coffee shop in St Marys.

Annabelle in her wheelchair. She was found dragging herself on a country road, her back legs and lower spine disabled.

Even the horses came to see what was going on.

Yours truly with my daughter Astrid. She has Katy, our current foster and I have my wild child Violet, a/k/a Ultra-Violet.

A heart felt thank you to my family in Quebec for their generous donations and support.

Thank you to Carey Pope, our town councelor and owner of Pass It On for letting me use some of her photographs. Pass It On is a great little vintage shop in St Marys.
