Diva Divine Fuzzi - Completed
Fuzzi's portrait is now complete and I see pink fuzz and sparkles everywhere. Opportunities to paint feather boas and tiaras don't come often - then again, little glamour queens/supermodels like Fuzzi don't come around very often either. The paper backing and ribbon contour will be applied after the varnish is dry and Fuzzi on canvas will be on its way to Carol's home.
Happy Tails Rescue wanted to give a dog dying of cancer the best end possible, but this little girl lived on for six more years. If you have followed Fuzzi's portrait journey from the beginning, I'm sure that you've become a Fuzzi fan. She embodied positivity, sweetness and beauty inside and out, but most of all, she embodied love of life, pure and simple.
Thank you so much, Carol, for entrusting me with her portrait; it was a real pleasure to paint her.
Final Fuzzi Vignette:
Carol recounts another supermodel moment with Fuzzi:
Fuzzi, her battle with cancer, and our hope that other dogs with medical issues would be considered adoptable was recorded in the Toronto Star in May 2008. The Star sent out a photographer to take her photo and he was astonished that he could pose Fuzzi like a Gumby without one complaint from her. She laid in position for at least a half hour until he got the picture he wanted. He couldn't believe how compliant she was. She really knew how to work the camera.
