Ziggy and the Zebra Coat

Ziggy, on the right, was an unusual case. He first came into our foster home with his brother at the age of eight weeks. Two little black curly fur balls. They'd spent weeks on the road, in the "care" of a puppy broker who'd tried to sell them to pet shops. Apparently, black or dark puppies are not as saleable as light ones; they were returned to the puppy mill to be killed. Kismutt Small Dog Rescue took them in and found both good homes. But Ziggy was not as lucky as his brother. He was returned 10 months later because his owners could no longer take care of him, to no fault of his own. Ziggy came back to us dirty, matted and full of fleas, yet had retained his affectionate and lively personality. The groomer did her magic and the little popper turned into a handsome elegant prince. Soon after he was adopted by a childless couple. We knew he would be treated very well this time around. Ziggy inspired this stylish elegant room to match his own image and we know he will live happily ever after with his new human parents.
