Commissioned Portrait - Grandfather and His Cat, Part III

Here's the preliminary sketch of my client's 'Papa' with a rough of the plaid shirt. The photograph I was given shows him squinting a little because it was taken outdoors. In the sketch, I made his eyes a little more open since he will be portrayed indoors.

My two subjects are relaxing in the recliner.

I needed a good hand reference to rest on the arm of the chair. 

When I have to create a composite, all the elements have to look natural.
