Nano Smilling
(6" x 8" acrylic on canvas)
I was so concentrated on painting Nano that I forgot to take progress shots.

It's so nice to do a bird for a change. Don't get me wrong, I love doing hairy land-dwellers with wet noses, but doing an animal of flight brings the creativity upwards in regards to the decorative elements. For dogs, the floor and anything relating to it are an important anchor in the composition. The ethereal nature of birds allows for flights of fancy. Nano may be an exotic bird, but there is nothing wild about her. Like this chandelier, she is delicate and complex, bright and sparkly and so beautiful. Even the light bulbs appear like her eggs.

I now need to get Carol's input to make sure all is how it should be and do the final corrections.
