Commission - Portrait of Emily Brontë, part III - The Face
I made excellent progress on the front cover of the book, mainly working on Emily’s facial features. Much more to do on the décolletage, hair and dress. I will avoid looking at Emily over the weekend, this allows me to return to her with fresh eyes. I often see details to correct when I get back to painting on Monday.
I’m particularly pleased with how the portrait is progressing, perhaps because of the message I sent out into the universe asking for Emily to guide me in rendering her portrait, and perhaps because I’ve been listening to Wuthering Heights on Librivox while painting.
Still in awe now, as I was then, of Emily Brontë’s immense talent.
Below are some progress shots.
