Plants & Pots Collection
SOLD African Violet in Porcelain Pot with Crab Spider 8"x8" mixed media on watercolour paper |
This collection of plants was inspired by my mother and my daughter’s love for plants. Growing up, I remember the living room always filled with all kinds of plants. Needless to say, my mother was, and still is a plant lover. She also propagates and there are always healthy baby plants ready to leave her home to raise funds for the local horticultural society. My daughter who is currently living with my mother while studying at Concordia, has become a plant lover, no doubt, the result of being exposed to her grandmother’s environment.
Most of the pots depicted with each plant are family heirlooms. As usual, I like to include a little creature in my work. The pandemic has made me feel like a house plant, at the window looking out, and nowhere to go - but still growing.
