Insects are fascinating to me, they appeal to my sense of detail, especially if they are made of noble metals and encrusted with precious stones. These can land on me anytime. The inspiration for these miniature paintings was taken from vintage and antique jewelry. You can go here to see my two first mini paintings of gem-set insects brooches on petals. Unlike the two first one, these have a darker jewell tone palette. I think this is directly linked to having painted them in the autumn season.
