Doors Open Ontario Art and Photo Contest 2013

Every year, Doors Open Ontario attracts large crowds across the province. From April to October, residents and visitors are invited to discover first-hand Ontario’s hidden heritage treasures, some of which have never before been open to the public. Since the program was launched in 2002, nearly five million visits have been made to heritage sites participating in this exciting initiative. Doors Open Ontario, now considered a cultural phenomenon, will continue in 2013 with hundreds of communities participating across the province.

We are very proud to announce that The Dusty Victorian will part of this cultural event. On September 28th, between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, The DV will open its double front doors and welcome all. Please click on this link to know more about other St Marys open door locations.

The Digital Photo Contest has been a staple of the Doors Open Ontario event, but for the first time, a Visual Art Contest is also open for submissions. This visual arts contest celebrates the year’s theme of Cultural Expressions and the many artistic traditions that have helped shape our province. Perhaps when you visit The Dusty Victorian, you will be inspired as were Helen and Keith last year.

PRIZES 

Winner – Adult category: TBC (approximate $500 value) x 1 

Winner – Youth category: TBC (approximate $500 value) x 1 

Honourable mentions – Adult category: TBC (approximate $100 value) x 4

People’s Choice Award – $500 gift card redeemable at Ontario’s Finest Hotels, Inns & Spas (x 1) 

Entries will be invited to participate in a special exhibit hosted in early 2014 at an Ontario Heritage
