Nellie & Sophie - Commissioned Portraits

This new painting is all about Nellie and Sophie, two beautiful rescues from Kismutt. They now live in a loving and attentive family. Laurie and Robin are Nellie and Sophie's human parents. Diane, their human auntie, has commissioned me to do their portraits.

Nellie is a very sweet purebred Schnauzer. Like most adult mill dogs, she grew up in a cage, knowing only the rough hand of a human. But everyday, she's gaining confidence with the patience and love of her new family. She is learning to be social, to play and to go for walks. There is so much to learn, but Nellie is very smart and is progressing very well.

Sophie is a "Schnoodle", a mix between a Schnauzer and a Poodle. She's this family's wild child and party animal. Doesn't that face say it all? She's also Nellie's constant companion. Sometimes, the best thing for a shy dog is to be paired with an outgoing one. It helps in bringing the shy dog out of it's shell. It's amazing how much dogs learn from each other. Sophie is a high energy dog - always busy. She loves her toys, Nellie's toys and the kids' toys as well, but also loves her walks. She always wants to party no matter what and is very insistent about it. She has loads of character and is known to be quite bossy, but Sophie is also a very sweet cuddly bear and loves to give kisses... when tired.

Lets start this new journey with Nellie and Sophie, shall we?
