SOLD Cottontails on a Woodland Path - Happy April!
SOLD Cottontails on a Woodland Path 12"x12"x1" Acrylics on Wood |
This scene depicts the woodland path leading to the clearing at the back of my property. It cuts through the woods separating my house and the clearing. Tall maples and cedars overshadows everything, but at the beginning of the path where there’s more sunlight, dogwood, spireas and hydrangea grow very well.
Throughout the year, many creatures can be be seen on this path. Chipmunks, squirrels and birds are the more common ones, but on occasions, the very shy deers, porcupines, wild turkeys and cottontails have been spotted as well. I love the transition period between seasons - especially between summer and autumn. The trees and bushes offer a much wider range of colours.
The door at the end of the path makes for a great focal point and triggers the imagination.
A perfect symbol that this is the home of fauna and flora.
I see this painting in a child’s bedroom where the tales of Beatrix Potter are read every night.
