Rachel - Commissioned Dog Portrait, Part IV
Here we are, almost finished. At this stage, I need the input of Diane to make sure that all is how it should be before I varnish it.
Photographs are great, but there's nothing like the human eye. Cameras have become very sophisticated; they adjust themselves to the ambient light, whether good or bad, to guarantee a good shot. But at the same time, they tend to change slightly the true colouring of the subject.
Here are Diane's furry kids together on my easel. Unmistakable which one is the girl.
The next and last stage will be to make the corrections, protecting with varnish, print the paper backing, apply it to the back, add the ribbon all around the painting, secure it with decorative nails, and finally, nail in the hanging hardware.
