Max, Kismutt's Clean Dog Mascot (part I)

Here I am with a different project this time.

In the last year, Kimberly Thomas of Kismutt Small Dog Rescue has expanded and added, amongst other things, a dog bath to her shelter. She used to bathe the dogs in her own house. Now that the bath is installed, she's asked me to paint an image on the wood panel that is located at the end of the bath.

I first prepared the panel by filling in the imperfections, added two coats of primer and three coats of cream coloured semi-gloss paint.

She had mentioned an image in the style of a cartoon and I think it's a great idea. Besides, a detailed realistic image of this size would take me half a year to do. I haven't drawn cartoons since I was a kid, but I'm looking forward to it.
