Chaz in the Sunlight

Chaz was adopted from a rescue organization when living in Vancouver. He was being fostered by a young women who mainly fostered Border Collies and big dogs. We don't know what breed he is, but he may be a Tibetan Terrier. One thing we know for sure is that he thinks he's bigger than he really is. Also his perception on sizing up his opponent seems to be off, therefore when we walk him and there is another dog along are way, we have to resort to strategic rerouting to avoid a big scene. Other than that, he's a terrific dog. So affectionate and gentle. He is such a positive influence on Violet. They are inseparable. When he has access to a window, you can be sure he will be looking out, surveying his territory. The bedroom I designed for him had to show him looking out with the sunlight beaming down on him. He was drawn from real life, because he could stay still, looking out for up to an hour, giving me ample time to sketch him. The nature theme on the wall paper, symbolized his view outdoors. The Delft urn on the night table is a family heirloom and was the inspiration for the blue coloring and patterns.
